《Journal of Systematics and Evolution》于1951年創(chuàng)辦,由中國科學院植物研究所；中國植物學會所主辦。其前身為以下四種刊物：《靜生生物調查所匯報》、《國立北平研究院植物學研究所叢刊》、《國立中央研究院植物匯報》、《中國科學社生物研究所植物部論文叢刊》。

《Journal of Systematics and Evolution》是我國生物學科歷史最悠久的核心期刊，代表了我國植物分類學領域的最高學術水平，在國內外有深遠的影響。所刊登的內容是生命科學各學科及農業(yè)、林業(yè)、醫(yī)藥、輕工及環(huán)境保護(包括生物多樣性和保護生物學研究)和資源開發(fā)利用等行業(yè)有關學科的基礎。《Journal of Systematics and Evolution》是從事這些學科工作的必備參考刊物。

《Journal of Systematics and Evolution》的獲獎情況：2001年中國期刊方陣“雙百期刊” 中國新聞出版總署中國期刊方陣；2000年中國科學院優(yōu)秀期刊二等獎。
