《Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics》創刊于1981年，由中國科學院國家天文臺主辦。
《Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics》主要刊登天文學和天體物理學領域的原創性研究論文。主要欄目和報道范圍：“研究快報”用來報道天文觀測的新結果及新理論；“特約綜述”聘請國際知名天文學家就某些熱點問題進行專題評述。“研究論文”具有原創性。2009年更名為《天文和天體物理學研究》（英文版），由雙月刊變為月刊。
